Lawn Installation / Sod
If you have the space for a lawn, but currently do not have one laid out, we can install one for you. With a lawn installation, there are two processes that we can use to give you a beautiful lawn space. Th first process is a natural seeding. In this process, we will grade the land and plant grass so that it can grow, from seed, to full lawn. The second process is to lay down sod. Sod is grass that has already started growing and is placed down to form a lawn in your space.
With either lawn installation process that you choose, the first step is grading the land that your lawn will be grown in. Grading helps to control rain water flow; taking it away from your house. Grading the land also helps us to give you a nice, even surface to plant grass in to. During the grading process we will also prepare the earth for seeding, or to lay down sod on top of it. Grading is a tedious, and time consuming, process, but we can assure you that we will handle it for you.
If we decide to go with the seeding route, this is a next step after grading. Once the land is leveled and prepared for planting grass, we can put seed down. We use seeding machines that make sure your grass is evenly distributed, and that seeds are placed in a way that ensures your lawn will grow to be full, lush and even. Seeding is a cheaper option than sod, but the trade-off is that it takes longer to achieve a grown out look. Seeding is the classic way to grow a lawn and is a great way to get the lawn space you’ve always wanted.
If you don’t mind an increase in budget, and prefer to have quicker results, sod is a great option for your lawn. After we grade the land that your lawn is to go on, sod is brought in and, either, laid down in patches, or rolled out in strips. Sod comes in all different colors of grass and can come in several different species. Sodding is a relatively quick process. Another added benefit of placing down sod is that, because it comes in pre-planted strips, it can be placed, or cut, to give you the exact yard shape that you want.
After your lawn is seeded, or sod os placed down, the next step is to figure out how we will go about watering your lawn. Using a hose to water your lawn is always an option, but this often leads to over, or under, watering and it can actually raise your water bill, unnecessarily. A great option is to have us install sprinklers directly in to your lawn. We can use hidden sprinkler heads, that will pop up when water is supplied through them, which will make sure that water is evenly supplied to your lawn.
